What's the ultimate race you'd like to do? Boston Marathon. Apparently Heartbreak Hill in Boston isn't a patch on Church Hill in Glanmire!! someday.

What do you eat/fuel before run? Pasta the night before. Bagel with peanut butter, jam & banana with coffee for breakfast.Black coffee before training and porridge before races
Favourite TV shows/movies:Friends, Sex and the city, Homeland, Breaking Bad. 'Mrs. Doubtfire' always makes me laugh
Favourite Food/Drink: Indian food. Bulmers Cider (served in a wine glass with ice - I think I'm fancy!!) or white wine.
Favourite music: Anything that was played in Sir Henry's on Friday indie night or Saturday sweat night back in the day.
Sporting Hero: Roy Keane - his brutal honesty has to be admired, even if this is a Liverpool household!
Other hobbies outside of running:At the moment, 2 small boys in my life have zapped any extra free time for hobbies! Nowadays, uninterrupted reading would be a luxury!
If you could attend any sporting event in the world what would it be? Olympics - Men's 100m final, added bonus if Usain Bolt was running! .
Whats the first thing you’d do if you won the lotto? Look after family & friends, then buy the old chinese restaurant site opposite the First Fruits in Watergrasshill and reopen it as a Clubhouse for Watergrasshil AC. .
If you were Taoiseach for a day what changes would you implement? Abolish all taxes for a start
If you were stuck on a dessert island and could bring 3 things with you what would you bring? My two boys and Ken! On second thoughts, my coffee machine, my makeup bag and a photo of the boys ...

Top 3 races on calendar: I haven't done any of these yet, but they are the races I’m most looking forward to. Dungarvan 10, Ballycotton 10, Dublin City Marathon.
Most enjoyable race you’ve done: The BHAA Gas Networks 5k at the Marina. It was a beautiful morning with loads of WGH runners in attendance. I even managed a much better PB that I had hoped for!
Proudest running moment: The Great Island 10 mile in Cobh. I knew it would be a tough one with the hills so I set out with a goal of sub 100. Ended up crossing the line in 89:17 and was absolutely delighted. It really felt like all the work the last few months was starting to pay off and it gave me a great confidence boost heading into bigger challenges this summer. It was also a relief to break the 10 mile curse :-)
Favourite training route/routine: Definitely the Wednesday night track sessions with Coach Kieran. Tough as hell, but feeling big improvements from it. I highly recommend this for any other newbies
Favourite race distance: I like 4 milers at the moment, hopefully in a year I'll say Marathon to that question.
What's the ultimate race you'd like to do? The New York City Marathon. Haven’t been to NYC in a long time, it would be a great reason to go back.
Favourite Running Brand: Mizuno on the feet and whatever free t-shirts I can blag ;-)
What do you eat/fuel before run? Porridge with a banana all the way for the early runs. Anything not spicy for the later runs (Learned the hard way). Peanut butter and jam on wholegrain always hits the spot too.
Favourite TV shows/movies:Massive Star Wars fan. Breaking Bad, Better call Saul. Whatever is on Discovery / Nat Geo.
Favourite Food/Drink: Coffee, lots and lots of strong coffee, black, none of that fancy stuff!! Sushi when I can get it.
Favourite music: Pearl Jam, Metallica. Pretty much anything with a guitar from the early 90's really. Hate to admit it but I can be caught at times bopping to some good dance choons in traffic.
Sporting Hero:Impossible to just choose one. Sonya O'Sullivan & Paul O'Connell. Both outstanding Irish role models who despite being at the top of their games, remained humble.
Other hobbies outside of running:Hanging out with my amazing Wife Evelyn and two beautiful Daughters Abigail & Imogen. Reading Michael Connelly, Lee Child, or a good history book. Enjoying some running books now also and looking for any recommendations. Rarely separated from my Kindle.
If you could attend any sporting event in the world what would it be? The Olympic Games for the rowing & athletics, and to see Katie Taylor & Rob Heffernan take home more medals for Ireland. .
Whats the first thing you’d do if you won the lotto?Clean my glasses and check the ticket again! Then make sure none of my family had to worry about mortgages again. Ensure my daughters were financially secure for life with good educations and roofs over their heads. Probably give the rest or a very large portion of it cancer research and services for cancer patients. .
If you were Taoiseach for a day what changes would you implement? Make politicians wait like everyone else for their pensions and also means test them. Try to fix our health system and challenge all the vested interests, if that's even possible now!
If you were stuck on a dessert island and could bring 3 things with you what would you bring? That depends, would there be Wifi ?!?!

If you could attend any sporting event in the world what would it be? I'd rather be in labor than attend a match in any sport, enjoy supporting and participating in athletic events.
Whats the first thing you’d do if you won the lotto? Ensure I'd help out any friends that were struggling, think it wouldn't change much in my own life, believe it might distract rather than add to my happiness. I'd sleep easier knowing my kids would be looked after in case I couldn't work.
If you were Taoiseach for a day what changes would you implement? Investigate and hold accountable corrupt individuals in power , use empty properties for homeless families and create a public awareness campaign designed to change peoples whinging/entitlement attitude to one of responsibility and contribution to society.

Most enjoyable race you’ve done: The John Treacey race is a lovely route, and a great buzz at the Ballycotton. I look forward to doing them again next year..
Proudest running moment: The first time I ran to 8 miles, I was aiming to run 7 but got back to my car at 7.5 so just kept going until I hit the 8! I was well please with myself. Then finishing the Dungarvan and Ballycotton races, that's a massive achievement for me. There's great support from the club, it's a real boost on a ad day and I am really proud to wear the orange top at my races.
Favourite training route/routine: Running from my home, up around Moanbaun Woods with my lovely dog Mutley!

What's the ultimate race you'd like to do? I would love to do the Trophy des Montagnes (CaniX) race, someday.

What do you eat/fuel before run? I'm stil learning this skill, but so far a banana beforehand and a glucose tablet half way round does the job.
Favourite TV shows/movies: I am a big Game of Thrones fan, unfortunately we don't have Sky Atlantic so I read the books (twice!!) watched the boxset, and am waiting eagerly for George to hurry up with more books!!!

Sporting Hero: You just have to love Valentino Rossi. He is a great sportsman, he always acknowledges the other riders that he had to compete with, and doesn't blame the bike or his team for a bad race, and it's great viewing when he is fighting for position!
Other hobbies outside of running: In a life before children, I enjoyed riding horses in different places and jumping over stuff. I love reading and never leave home without my e-reader. I also enjoy picking up heavy things and putting them down again!!
If you could attend any sporting event in the world what would it be? Badminton horse trials or the Erzbergrodeo in Austria!
Whats the first thing you’d do if you won the lotto? I'd fix the roads around my house.
If you were Taoiseach for a day what changes would you implement? I would implement transparency and accountability in the government. Also, I'd implement stricter punishments for crimes, mandatory sentences for different crimes, with repeat offenders getting harsher punishments.

Most enjoyable race you’ve done: Charleville Half in 2014. Was a perfect day from start to finish! Great weather, brilliant atmosphere and ran a good strong race
Proudest running moment: Every time I put on the orange singlet is a proud running moment, ha ha. But honestly I think it was when I completed my first marathon in Dublin in 2013. Having only 6 months running behind me, I didn’t know if I would be able to do it, so it was a great sense of achievement to complete the route, and to do it in Sub 4 hours made it all the better
Favourite training route/routine: Not many will agree with me, but I do love Church Hill. Its tough, but you feel great when you get to the top, have a bit of a Rocky moment, and enjoy a nice flat road to recover. Shir we love the hills really!!
Favourite race distance: I used to think it was 5k, but I enjoy the longer distances more now so Full, followed by half. Maybe I just need to run more 5ks!!
What's the ultimate race you'd like to do? Boston marathon. It would be an unforgettable experience, and because you have to qualify for it, it makes you want it all the more!!
Favourite Running Brand: For runners it has to be Nike, they have been good to me so far
What do you eat/fuel before run: Porridge, and lots of it. Not a big believer in carb loading, but the bowl of porridge in the morning before a run always works a treat for me!
Favourite TV shows/movies: Don’t have a lot of time for TV, but do love the easy watching shows like Modern Family & Big Bang Theory. Movies would be pretty much anything with either Will Ferrell or Denzel Washington in it (not together obviously :) )
Favourite Food/Drink: The country girl in me has to go with mammys Bacon & Cabbage, cant beat it. Washed down with a nice cold pint bottle. Heaven
Favourite music: The Coronas, Kodaline, Ed Sheeran, Walking on Cars, George Ezra, you get the drift
Sporting Hero: I’m going to be very sad here say that it is our very own Liam Tracey. I could say someone very iconic, but I think a sporting hero is someone who you aspire to be like, and Liam fits that bill. I really admire his passion for the sport. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he is always willing to give his time to pass on some of his knowledge to all the rest of us
Other hobbies outside of running: Reading, walking the doggy, catching up with friends, jig saws (now I really seem like a saddo, ha ha!
If you could attend sporting event in the world what would it be? This would have to be the Rugby World Cup, with Ireland in the final #priceless
What's the first thing you’d do if you won the lotto? I would do a lot of travelling, but adventure holiday type travelling. Would love to visit Macchu Picchu & The Great Wall. Then I would do all the boring stuff like pay off bills etc, and throw a huge party for all of Watergrasshill AC, ha ha J
If you were Taoiseach for a day what changes would you implement? This is a tough one, I tend to avoid politics and that sort of thing, but I would try and make things fairer so that the rich don’t keep getting richer and the poor getting poorer. It cant be that hard to sort surely!!
If you were stuck on a dessert island and could bring 3 things with you what would you bring? I would def have to bring an ipod, my kindle, and haagan daas ice cream, I would never leave, lol!!
